    Frequently asked questions

    Labor Code no. 262/2006 Coll., as amended. The employer is obliged to ensure catering to all employees in all shifts; the employer does not have this obligation towards the employees sent on business trips. Income Tax Act no. 586/1992 Coll., as amended. The expenses (costs) related to the achievement, assurance and preservation of income also represent the expenses (costs) related to employment and social conditions, health care and an increased rest period of employees spent in the operation of one’s own catering facility, except for the value of foodstuff, or the contributions to catering provided through other entities and rendered up to 55 % of the price of one meal per shift, but no more than 70% of the meal allowance defined for employees under Section 6 ss. 7 par. a) of the ITA for business trips of 5 to 12 hours. The value of meals provided as non-monetary performance by the employer to employees for consumption at the workplace or as part of the company catering provided through other entities is exempt from employee’s income tax (Section 6 ss. 9 par. b of the ITA).

    The payment with eStravenka can be declined for several reasons.

    1. The card is blocked. The cardholder can verify the balance in his/her personal account.
    2. The card has not been activated. The cardholder has not picked up his/her PIN yet to activate the card.
    3. The card has expired. The cardholder must request his/her employer to renew the card.
    4. There are not enough credits on the card to pay for the purchase.
    5. The cardholder has exceeded the daily limit of CZK 800.
    6. A partner changed their payment terminal but failed to send the new merchant number. Please inform us about this fact.

    To use Apple Pay you need:

    – a mobile device (iPhone, iWatch or iPad) with iOS (a wireless technology allowing contactless data transmission over short distances)
    – an active eStravenka card issued by Up ČR
    – open the Wallet app on your phone device
    – accept the Terms of the Use of Up ČR Payment Cards
    – you recieve a confirmation code message on your mobile device or on your e-mail address, that you input in your Můj Up account

    To use Google Pay you need:

    – a mobile device (a smart phone or tablet) with NFC technology (a wireless technology allowing contactless data transmission over short distances)
    – Android 5.0 or higher (the application may request a change of NFC payment settings when adding a card)
    – an active eStravenka card issued by Up ČR
    – Google Pay application downloaded on your mobile device
    – accept the Terms of the Use of Up ČR Payment Cards. As part of Google Pay service, official agreements and terms of service provisioning are displayed when adding a card to Google Pay service.

    Yes, employees can use the card to pay for online purchases securely. They can use the Up Klíč mobile app (available for download in App Store or Google Pay) to confirm the payment, or they can also confirm the payment via SMS.
