Předpokládaná doba čtení: 6 minut

Are you ready to embark on the third stage of our journey together? As you surely know by now, Via Nisa connects traditional pilgrimage sites and Stations of the Cross along the Czech-German border, specifically in the Šluknov Strip, the Lusatian Mountains, the Zittau Mountains, the Frýdlant Strip, and in part of the Jizera Mountains. Today’s trip will take us from Rumburk to Jiřetín pod Jedlovou, where several points of interest await along the way and, of course, there will be more stamps to collect. Are you ready to set out?

Refreshments along the way

Everyone knows that such a long hike requires a lot of energy. That is why for each stage we offer our best tips for refreshments, where you can recharge your energy also using meal vouchers and eStravenka cards and strengthen yourself for the next part of the trip. Our tip that should definitely not elude your attention during the third stage is the Lípa Resort in Krásná Lípa with its newly established restaurant offering pleasant seating in the town centre. A cosy atmosphere is achieved through the combination of modern and historical interior elements with the appetising scent of local cuisine. Main dishes, original desserts and great coffee all await you there.

Route of the third stage

A route packed with beautiful views awaits. This time we will depart from Lusatian Square in Rumburk following the yellow tourist route to the Loreto Chapel and the Capuchin Monastery already mentioned at the end of the previous stage. Next, we will continue along the blue tourist route to the observation tower on the Dymník basalt peak, from which there is a gorgeous view of the surrounding landscape. Below Dymník, we will find another TIM by a tourist hut, wherefrom we will first follow the blue and then the green route to Krásné Lípy. There, in addition to the Baroque Church of St. Mary Magdalene, we will find an information centre in the town square where the fifth pilgrimage stamp of Via Nisa can be acquired. From the square, we will follow the red tourist sign past the Neo-Renaissance Dittrich Tomb at TIM U pěti cest, then continue along the red route to the Pod Kočičí skálou intersection. From there, it is possible to scale up to the Karlova výšina viewpoint, an ideal spot to have a snack with a beautiful view. We will then continue along the red route to the Rybniště railway station and to TIM Chřibská rozcestí. After that, it is quite a long stretch along the red route all the way to the intersection below Jedlová, from where we can reach the Jedlová Lookout Tower. We will make our way back to the intersection, then follow the green route through Křízová hora, one of the most interesting places on today’s trip. The mountain is home to one of the most beautiful Stations of the Cross in this land offering breathtaking views of the landscape and has appeared in several Czech films and fairy tales. Below Křízová hora, Jiřetín pod Jedlovou can be found, where the sixth pilgrimage stamp is to be collected in the town square information centre, bringing us to the end of the third stage.

Accommodation

Another reminder that this foot trail is far away from large cities, therefore it is advisable to arrange accommodation in the vicinity. Just as before, we offer you tips for the third stage on where to lay your head and rest up for the next part of the trip.
